Awhile back i made a post about my DNA results from 23andme. It’s has certainly been one of the most visited posts on my blog. If you haven’t read my original post and your interested you should, especially if you a curious to learn a bit more about my native american ancestry. You can view my original post here at: https://keen101.wordpress.com/2011/01/24/23andme-dna-results/
Anyway, i just wanted to share that my DNA results have been updated slightly by 23andme. Apparently they are learning better ways to understand their results, and probably also gaining better reference populations. In addition they have updated their graphics a bit. On conservative it still shows me as being ~5.3% Native American. On Standard Estimate it shows me as being 10.3% Native American. And on Speculative Estimate it shows me as possibly being as 10-12.8% Native American! which would be about 1/8, and would make sense. Either way it’s still cool. Even cooler that my entire maternal mitochondrial DNA is all Native American on my mothers mothers mothers etc. etc. side.
Most of everything else is about the same. They do have a new Neanderthal DNA tester to show how much Neanderthal DNA you have. I guess the average is 2.3%. I have 2.7%. Not sure whether that is good or bad, haha.
